So it seems you’ve stumbled upon my page, and what’s more, you’re curious enough or bored enough or perhaps a little of both to click on the link to find out a little bit more about who orchestrates the madness that is Fragments Like Fireworks.
To start, I created this blog in April 2011, because “all the cool kids were doing it” and I decided to give it a try. I soon fell in love with the idea of having a place where I can collect inspiration, whether it be in the form of quotes, postings about civil movements, news events, poetry, art, or photography. Little fragments that have the same passion and awe invoked by a fireworks display, if we want to get all poetic :)
Recently, I reactivated my Deviantart account, and not only have I been posting my own photos, but I’ve been avidly following photographers, photomanipulators, and artist. Since the biggest goal of artist of any medium is to gain recognition, I’ve decided to help those artists out by spreading their work around, in this case, posting their artworks and photography on my tumblr. So please check out both my work and the work of the people whose work I post.
Now a bit about me: My name is Mev. And I know what you’re thinking. Three letters and one syllable isn’t long enough to be a name, it must be short for something. Well that would be a negative. Despite popular belief it is not short for anything. No, not even Meverly.
I want to be the next Steve McCurry…well the female version at least. Taking photographs is my passion. Learning about cultures is my intrigue. Seeing the world before I die is my goal. So what better career to have than that of a photojournalist? I still have a long way to go, but just you wait and see, one day you’ll see my name in National Geographic :D
I absolutley adore learning. There isn’t much out there that I don’t find at least the tinniest bit interesting. The world is compromised of so much, and having an artistic mindset, my eyes (or in this case my third eye) can’t help but pick up as much detail in the world as I can down to the last brush stroke painted by mother nature.
With that said, feel free to check out my poetry (under Poetical Nonsense) and my photography (under Devious Art), and leave me a comment about what you think.
So I guess that’s really all you need to know about me to aid you on your journey through my posts. If you have any questions about me, about something I post, or just want to share something amazing don’t fret to give that “Ask Me” button some cursor love.
I hope you enjoy what you see.
